From Latter Days…

Which is a pretty decent movie:

Aaron: Do you ever read the Sunday comics?

Lila: [confused] I beg your pardon? …Yes, of course the Sunday comics.

Aaron: Well, when I was a little kid, I use to put my nose right up to them. And I was just amazed because it looked like this mass of dots, and none of it made sense until I pulled back. Life looks like that mass of dots to me sometimes. None of it makes any sense, but I like to think that, from God’s perspective, life, everything – even this – make sense. It’s not just dots. Instead we’re all conncected, and it’s beaitiful and funny and good. This close we can’t expect it to make sense, not right now.

That’s the thought for the day, kiddos!

Dream Big…

I have a confession to make:

I’m a Craigslist addict.

Yes, I know. This is shocking. However, I cannot resist my beloved Craigslist D.C. I compulsively look at furniture for sale, apartments for rent, and roommates wanted ads. I stalk the listings, as if it weren’t at least two and a half years until I’m moving to D.C.

I’ve also been obsessively checking out furniture at Urban Outfitters, Target, and Ikea. Today, I bought the first little decorative item for my future apartment to be.

While I realize the liklihood is that I’ll end up having to share with someone, probably a ways out of D.C., I still harbor hope. That silly little thing all college students think about – okay, maybe just the HGTV sluts like me. It’s got a cute couch, and lots of gauzy curtains and neat, colorful canvasses. I dream about having my own space and being a grown up.

For now, I’ll ignore the fact that a studio runs for $1000.

That’s what kids who are sitll in college get to do, isn’t it?
