My best friend helping me clean my room the day before I have to move most of my stuff out?
Moving a refrigerator out of my friend’s room while her boyfriend cracks jokes about palestinians (of which he is one), indians, cows, quickee marts, girls who eat frosting straight from the can, ridiculous but helpful security guards, and my friend’s common sense?
Returning to find my food riffled through and some of it stolen by unrepentant seniors who are a weeee bit drunk?
I think tonight definitely falls into the “priceless college memories” category.

“You must not for one instant give up the effort to build new lives for yourselves. Creativity means to push open the heavy, groaning doorway to life. This is not an easy struggle. Indeed, it may be the most difficult task in the world, for opening the door to your own life is, in the end, more difficult than opening the doors to the mysteries of the universe.”

I have the most wonderful best friend a girl could ask for.
She’s smart, she’s funny, she’s wise. She’s pretty darn hot in her red shoes. She calls my car by his name and realizes he would be much happier in a garage. She brings me McDonalds at midnight and understands when I grunt and hang up on her during a nap. She rides around Raleigh with me at 1am when we’re bored. She tolerates my mess and understands my need for my stuff to be where it is. And the best of all? She gives me her cheesecake.
What more could a girl ask for?

Oh, woe is me, kids!
I just need the school year to end… Too many exams, papers, tests, projects, and the like. Seems like the Res Life duties just never end… I haven’t ever had a 9pm curfew in my LIFE. Who would’ve thought…?
I get to go home May 14th. Still up in the air about spending summer here or at home. We’ll see. I do know that I am most definitely writing a grant with a good friend/english professor/chaplain this summer. Sweet teamwork!

“Take life one day at a time, and if that’s too much, just take it one breath at a time”
One of my favorite people offered up these words of wisdom. Michelle graduates in a few days, and I’ll miss her so much…
