Ah, meme-rama!

This first meme comes to us today from Uppercase Woman aka Cecily. One of my idols in the blogging world. (I’ve seen this meme on a number of blogs but I’m doing it as inspired by her.) Seven things you don’t know about me:

  1. I am terrified of hospitals. My mother was chronically ill and I spent a miserable amount of time as a child in the hospital.
  2. I am obsessively in love with music. I will analyze why I love individual tiny parts of songs and drive my friends absolutely insane by saying, “Oh! Wait! It’s this part! I love it!” My dad says “every song is your favorite!”
  3. I can type between 95-110 words per minute. However, I do not do so with proper typing form. I use only three fingers. Two on my left hand and one on my right. (Plus my thumbs. YEAH thumbs!) People think it’s weird. It works just fine for me.
  4. I want to do a triathalon. My friend Deanna (now out of the hospital, and on her way to a 100% recovery, just down one leg!) is going to help me train.
  5. I have a desperate desire to memorize more. Scripture, poetry, quotations, all that. I just suck at memorization.
  6. I have an odd ability to mimic the accents of other, dropping and picking up my Southern drawl at will. I love making fun of northern people. And their hard vowels.
  7. I wish I was brave enough to sell everything I own and move to South America to be a missionary. Maybe one day I will.

This meme was found at “The Daily Meme” and created over here. Five things you want your children to know before they grow up. Well, hypothetical children in my case.

  1. Money is not the point of life. It’s merely a tool to do good in the world. We shouldn’t hoard money. As my pastor says, that’d be like hoarding gasoline. Gas isn’t the point of life, it’s just a way to get life accomplished.
  2. God loves you more than you can realize. He sent His son to die for you. Live your life for His glory, okay?
  3. You are more beautiful than you realize. Please don’t care if you look foolish. Speak out for what you believe in. Open your heart to the world. You might get hurt. You might look like a jerk. What’s it matter? I still love you.
  4. Don’t be afraid to ask question. Questions are the way the world changes. You say you want a revolution? Ask a question and challenge the answer.
  5. Hey. Listen to me. Love people. Love God. Nothing else matters. Be kinder than you think it possible to be. Love more than you think it possible to love. Always wear clean underwear, because you might get in a wreck and that’d be humiliating! Look both ways before you cross the street. Return library books on time. Brush your teeth twice a day. Park in between the white lines, because crooked parkers are obnoxious. Peeps are a disgusting candy. You are more fortunate than you realize. I will always love you. Say please and thank you. Use ma’am and sir. And hey. Call your mother.

So that was a lot more than five, but it warmed my happy little heart
